Massive news in the world of HPV means that we will need a new name for the program at JPPS. It does NOT change our commitment to running the program and ensuring the kids have the greatest experience of their lives!!! 🙂
After 26 years, the RACV has decided to withdraw from the Energy Breakthrough. The Energy Breakthrough will continue in 2018 and beyond.
Our next RACV meeting will be at recess tomorrow (Tuesday 27th). We will discuss fitness results so far, holiday training, Log Book check and the RACV Handbooks. Meeting will be held in Mr Jenkins room.
A back up Beep test will take place on Wednesday lunch time. If you missed the first one you will be expected to participate OR if you would like to have another go for extra fitness you are also welcome to attend.
Also on Wednesday we will do a 2nd log book check. Make sure your log books are in teh tub on Mr Jenkins desk by close of day Wednesday
The 2018 RACV Handbooks are available to view and download. We will have written tests early next term based on the information in these handbooks. These are another important part of the selection process and the information in these handbooks forms the basis of the presentations and scrutineering that takes place at Maryborough. Download them onto your iPad as you may want to start reading them during silent reading time and reading at home.
Dont forget that we have the Beep Test at lunch time tomorrow (Tuesday 6 March) for all RACV participants.
1:45pm in the gym.
You can have a change of clothes and if so, make sure you are changed and ready to go by 1:45.
You may want to hold off on eating all of your lunch until after the beep test is finished!!!!
ALSO, please note that we have postponed the 30 minute run until Thursday 15 March (as per Mr Zach’s previous post!!) due to school photos this Thursday and next Tuesday morning being the first day after the long weekend.
Orders are now being taken for the RACV uniform tops. They must be returned to school NO LATER THAN MONDAY 11 September. Orders can be completed via the Uniform order sheet RACV and returned in hard copy ASAP.
There is no charge for student T-shirts as the cost is factored in to the program costs. However, if parents wish to purchase their own Team Support JPPS Racing Presentation top, they can be ordered and paid for via QKR.
This page is designed for students to ask questions and make design and construction suggestions. We want to know everything about the vehicles especially things that you think might be able to be improved. Comfort, seating, noise, brakes, water bottles, walkie talkies, pedaling, vision, horn, safety, gears! Any topic can be included. Chances are if you’re thinking it, someone else may be too and besides you are the ones who are in the bike……
Check it out on the left hand side of the home page. Click on the link, give your topic a title that makes it obvious what it is about, then write a review, question, complaint, suggestion etc.. The design and construction portion of the event is crucial to the overall success and the more evidence we have of your input into vehicle improvements the better.
Whilst you’re here fill out the poll for the favourite vehicle….
And so the journey begins again. Under a typically gloomy (but slightly brighter than normal) Casey sky, many of our successful HPV applicants got their first taste of riding a HPV at our first Casey Fields training session yesterday. All 3 vehicles were on the track along with the new vehicle belonging to the Fellows family. Some short stints on the short circuit in order to get a taste for steering and handling, gear changes, passing and stimulating new muscle groups. This will extend to the big circuit with timing over the holidays and the subsequent challenge to improve and maintain speed and times.
