Selection Criteria (from meeting today)

Just a reminder about the selection criteria for HPV teams as outlined from our meeting today….

Team Selection:

Fitness Testing:                     30min Run (Week 6-  Day to be finalised)          Repeat in term 2

Beep test (Week 6- Tue 6 March)             Repeat in Term 2

Log Book Checks:                every 2-3 weeks (Mr Jenkins will notify via website)

Written Tests:                        Based on RACV handbook (Term 2)         Repeat later in Term 2

Homework:                            term 2

School:                                 Attitude and involvement at school in class and specialists

Uniform orders

Orders are now being taken for the RACV uniform tops. They must be returned to school NO LATER THAN MONDAY 11 September. Orders can be completed via the Uniform order sheet RACV and returned in hard copy ASAP.

There is no charge for student T-shirts as the cost is factored in to the program costs. However, if parents wish to purchase their own Team Support JPPS Racing Presentation top, they can be ordered and paid for via QKR.

Bendigo Event Homework

Bendigo came and went and now the hard work really starts. Not only do the kids now have a much greater understanding of racing, hopefully some of them have had their crashes and come out the other side unscathed.

 

This weeks task is to write a ‘Newspaper’ style report/recount of the Bendigo event, This can be based on your own experience and ride or a report of the event from a Jells Park perspective or of the event in general.

You need to submit this written task on the wiki titled 2017 Bendigo Race Report

Then click on the ‘Discussion’ tab. The title is your name and then type your report.

HPV Homework

With our first race less than 2 weeks away, we are making the final changes to our vehicles. Many other black vehicles will be on the track so we wish to personalise our two so we can recognise them when we fly down the home straight.

By Monday next week, each team member is to create a sticker design for the front of their teams vehicle.

I will be getting some Blue, Red, Yellow, White and Black sticker material that can be used.

Students can create any design, as long as we can cut it out and they use the above colours.

Designs may include:

Diagonal lines of varying widths, Circles, waves etc.

Designs need to be handed in by next Monday 14/8 so we can decide on which one to use.

Forum Page and Poll

The 2017 forum page is now open….

This page is designed for students to ask questions and make design and construction suggestions. We want to know everything about the vehicles especially things that you think might be able to be improved. Comfort, seating, noise, brakes, water bottles, walkie talkies, pedaling, vision, horn, safety, gears! Any topic can be included. Chances are if you’re thinking it, someone else may be too and besides you are the ones who are in the bike……

Check it out on the left hand side of the home page. Click on the link, give your topic a title that makes it obvious what it is about, then write a review, question, complaint, suggestion etc.. The design and construction portion of the event is crucial to the overall success and the more evidence we have of your input into vehicle improvements the better.
