Photos from our 6 hour Casey Fields race can be found on the Gallery page.
A tough day with mechanical issues for Vanquish who finished in 13th place (71 laps), whilst Shazzam fought hard for a 7th place finish (78 laps).
Well done everyone on a great day.
Now we turn our attention to Maryborough. Training will continue for all teams but our attention now also turns to the presentations and scrutineering. Each member of each team will make a contribution to the presentations and each team will go through an extensive scrutineering process before the races. The HPV process goes for 1-1.5 hours with lots of questions and practical discussions for which they will have to answer and have informal discussions with a range of judges. The Pushcart teams are required to dismantle and then reconstruct the pushcart and then discuss with judges a range of technical questions.
Orders are now being taken for the RACV uniform tops. They must be returned to school NO LATER THAN MONDAY 11 September. Orders can be completed via the Uniform order sheet RACV and returned in hard copy ASAP.
There is no charge for student T-shirts as the cost is factored in to the program costs. However, if parents wish to purchase their own Team Support JPPS Racing Presentation top, they can be ordered and paid for via QKR.
And so the journey begins again. Under a typically gloomy (but slightly brighter than normal) Casey sky, many of our successful HPV applicants got their first taste of riding a HPV at our first Casey Fields training session yesterday. All 3 vehicles were on the track along with the new vehicle belonging to the Fellows family. Some short stints on the short circuit in order to get a taste for steering and handling, gear changes, passing and stimulating new muscle groups. This will extend to the big circuit with timing over the holidays and the subsequent challenge to improve and maintain speed and times.
Well done everyone on your first practice runs at school and now Casey Fields as well. Hopefully you warmed up quickly after our first visit to Casey Fields. And Parent’s- sorry about the muddy and wet clothes :):)
Check out our gallery page for some photos of our first practises and check out below for photos of the fastest riders for the first session……
Check out the training page for an update to our holiday training schedule and to sign up for practise sessions at Casey Fields in the 2nd week of holidays. There is also a construction session on Tuesday 28th June at school to rebuild the HPV vehicles.
