Some slight changes to our training schedule this week as things start to ramp up even more. Only 3 1/2 weeks till Bendigo for the HPV teams, so we are introducing a new training session this Thursday (28th July) after school. Whilst the Pushcarters will start this Thursday as well to get their hands on to the carts and start practicing and building up their strength.
Thurs 8am: Push Cart training on the oval. All pushcarters are required with their helmet. This will be an ongoing training requirement.
Thursday 3:40pm-4:15pm: Fitness Training for HPV teams. This will rotate around a range of different activities including some running, bike riding, bootcamp style and some hills training. This will happen every Thursday unless notified.
The calendar will also be updated to reflect these new dates and times.
If there are any issues with attendance at these times please contact us or keep us informed.
Now that our squads have been decided, we need to get busy practicing in the vehicles ready for our first race in Bendigo on Saturday 20 August.
Our two old vehicles (Shazzam and Insane Boltz) have been repaired and are back at school ready to have the bodies put back on.
3 Training sessions will be held over the July Holidays
Tuesday 28 June, 10:00am – 1:00pm at school. The students will finish putting the bodies on the HPV’s and practice riding around the oval. (Please bring helmets, lunch and drink bottle)
Tuesday 5 July, 10:00am – 2:00pm at Casey Fields Criterium (Map) Training in the vehicles. Please bring helmet and drink bottle
Thursday 7 July, 10:00am – 2:00pm at Casey Fields Criterium. Training in the vehicles. Please bring helmet and drink bottle
Where possible students are encouraged to attend to begin the familiarisation with the vehicles. Students are able to stay longer than just their sign up time and if available are encouraged to attend both days! Please click on the below link to sign up for specific timeslots
Many families might be going away during the holidays but if your child is able to attend any of these days, it would be beneficial for them. The more practice they have in the vehicles, the more comfortable they are handling the vehicle during race conditions.
Can you please email Scott (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let him know if your child can not attend a particular session.
